Job Summary

?Perform routine activities in the department.
?Monitor Quality Control of reagents and stains
?Ensure timely calibration and preventive maintenance of equipment in the assigned area
?Ensure all records are maintained and updated.
?Prepare and ensure all reports are released within the respective turnaround time.
?Work as per the defined roaster system to ensure lab services are available 24/7 for the clinic
?Assist in defining, developing and implementation of policies and strategies for the Dept., and ensure it is aligned with the organization’s long term goals and objective.
?Be updated about the standard clinical practices in the concerned filed of practice.
?Responsible for the self/professional development by participating in national/international conferences or symposiums.
?Recommend reference/contract laboratory services as appropriate.
?Ensure maximum cooperation and coordination with other departments
?To work as a phlebotomist.
?To collect samples of Blood/Urine/Swab/Stool from patients under hygienic and safe conditions.
?To provide prompt and factual information to all patient enquiries and requirements regarding the laboratory facilities available at the Clinic, preparation needed by patients for various tests and delivery dates of reports.
?Responsible for competent and careful handling and processing of all the samples/patients /equipment under their charge in order to provide accurate test results: Biochemistry/Haematology/ serology/Bacteriology/parasitology.
? To exercise requisite care for equipment and ensure that operational instructions are strictly followed during the testing activities.
?To be able to carry out biochemical, haematological tests manually in case of breakdown of automated machines
?To ensure that utmost quality control, safety precautions and hygiene are followed in all laboratory practices.
?To record environmental parameters.
?Maintain strict confidentiality, work discipline and strive for adherence to scheduled turnaround times for test reports.
?To type and print laboratory tests results to be issued to patients.
?Maintain care and honesty in cash collection and accuracy in financial accounting.
?To strive for continuous upgrading of technical know-how and knowledge of modern laboratory practices.
