Accounts Supervisor

Job Presentation

Our Client, a leading media group in Mauritius is seeking to recruit a dynamic Accounts Supervisor with a manufacturing background.

Responsibilities:

Assist, coach and guide finance staff.
Ensure the completeness, accuracy and validity of accounting records.
Prepare management accounts, budgets, cash flows or any reports required by management.
Ensure monthly management accounts includes variance analysis and satisfactory comments.
Prepare annual financial statements and ensure it comply with the Companies Acts, International Financial Reporting Standards and are prepared on a timely basis.
Participate in the preparation of audit file and ensure audit is carried out smoothly.
Ensure that procedures are followed for receipts and daily receipts are banked the following working day.
Ensure procedures for purchases are followed and in line with the budget, approval for payment is obtained from the responsible officer before authorising a payment and Ensure timeliness for settlement of suppliers invoices.
Carry out frequent meeting with credit control department and follow up on debtors payments.
Ensure that internal procedures are being followed and assist the Head of Department in assessing and upgrading procedures when needed.
Ensure monthly physical stocktaking are carried out, reconciliation made with accounting records and investigate into any discrepancies.
Ensure all statutory returns to be submitted to the authorities are prepared on a timely basis and ensure compliance accordingly.
Ensure proper working capital management (stock, debtors and treasury).
Treasury management to ensure proper debt collection, liaise with bank and use of banking facilities for smooth cash flow.
Ensure petty cash disbursements are backed by supporting documents and monthly petty cash report are prepared and accounted properly.
Analyse, review and report on job costing.
Any other cognate duties.

What you need to know:

ACCA partly qualified with minimum level 2 completed.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Excellent financial management and analytical skills.
Proactive and good problem-solving skills.
Strong relationship building and interpersonal relations skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Treasury management (working with import loans, LCs, etc).
Leadership skill (to manage a group of 5-6 staffs).
Proactive and deadline oriented.
Management of inventory.
Job post costing (analytical review of costing compared to budget and enquire on variances).
