Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a disease that initially affects the peripheral vision. As it progresses the central vision will eventually be affected and will lead to blindness. Glaucoma is treated by lowering the intraocular pressure ( hence the misnomer of this disease - Tension les yeux) . If detected and treated early, blindness can be avoided.
