GPS Tracking Device CANBus

About the product
Modern trucks implement an electronic data communication protocol called CANBus/J1939. This protocol allows external equipment to read some vehicle data such as engine RPMs, engine coolant temperature, etc.

Frotcom can read this data through the use of a special Frotcom GPS/GPRS device connected to the CANBus circuit in the vehicle.

This data is then extracted in real-time and sent to the Frotcom Data Centre. For a fleet manager, this is valuable information. Not only can driving behaviours be easily analysed but it is also easier to increase vehicle usage efficiency, save fuel, reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and lower maintenance costs.

Additionally, for trucks with a digital tachograph, CANBus data includes the current state of up to two drivers: drive, work or rest. The system will also show when a driver is about to exceed the maximum driving or working time allowed by law (valid for European countries).
