Job vacancy Operations Manager - Fmcg - Angola

Our client is a global player in the FMCG industry with a strong presence in Africa and Europe. Their operations include both manufacturing and distribution of consumer goods within Angola. Due to the expansion of their operations, they are actively recruiting for an Operations manager to join their growing team in Luanda to lead procurement, logistics operations and supply & demand of their products within Angola

Reporting to the Operations Director, you are responsible for handling the below duties:

• Managing distribution & import costs within Angola, while maintaing operational excellence
• Collaborating with the food manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain teams to prepare, implement and control annual expenditures
• Outlining business strategies such as Route to Market, logistics planning and reviewing shipping policies
• Able to effectively plan and identify fixed & variable distribution costs
• Responsible for implementing best practises for warehouse storage to ensure long shelf life for products, while ensuring safety management at the distribution centers
• Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve KPI targets
• Negotiating contracts with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements, while handling direct procurement of raw materials

You bring a minimum of 7 years of experience as an Operations Manager in the FMCG industry with great exposure within the Angolan market

Working experience with procurement, supply & demand and logistic operations within a food manufacturing or distribution industry is preferred

Strong leadership skills that can motivate a team, and a person who can lead by example within a business setting

Excellent fluency in English is mandatory, and Portuguese or Spanish is preferred

Must be willing to relocate to Angola

Previous working experience within Latin America or Africa is an asset
