Salix International Interiors and Contracting Ltd is a manufacturer of high-quality joinery and interiors. We provide cost-effective, high-quality joinery to the local property development and refurbishment market in Mauritius and export high quality joinery to UK, US, Africa and Middle Eastern Property and Hospitality Markets.

We are currently searching for a Health & Safety to conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of the workplace to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

• Carry out regular occupational safety and health audits to identify risks to safety and health in production sites and dormitories.
• Ensure that safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and working procedures are managed and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
• Enquire into all complaints made by employees, employers relating to safety and health; occupational accidents, fires and dangerous occurrences at any place of work and make a report thereon, and recommend in writing any safety and health measures to be implemented by the employer.
• Assist in formulation of policies relating to Health and Safety at the workplace.
• Advise on selection of PPEs and any other safety related items .
• Design and implement appropriate training programmes to meet the requirements as per OSHA 2005.
• Ensure compliance to legislations in place.

• Degree in Occupational Health & Safety from a recognized institution
• Proven experience as safety officer
• In depth knowledge of legislation procedures
• Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
• Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in manufacturing sector will be an advantage
• Conversant in Hindi language
