Job vacancy Laboratory Technician

Performs laboratory tests in biochemistry, haematology, immunology, and microbiology laboratory. Ensures receiving the samples, testing, typing results, and recording blood/urine/stool/sputum/ other body fluids.

*Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labelling.
*Sorts specimens.
*Checks labelling.
*Logs specimens.
*Arranges reports for delivery.
*Keeps work surfaces clean and orderly.
*Maintains quality results by running standards and controls.
*Verifies equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting.
*Calibrates equipment utilizing approved testing procedures.
*Monitors quality control measures and protocols.
*Serves as technical resource by participating in staff training, answering questions of other professionals and participating in educational opportunities.
*Identifies and communicates abnormal patient conditions by alerting supervisory personnel/the pathologist.
*Hematology and Biochemistry:- Provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating hematology, urinalysis, and coagulation equipment; performs manual methods of differentials.
*Immunology:- Provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating equipment.
*COVID Testing:- Collecting/accepting samples from the patient/clinic staff and perform PCR/Antigen/other COVID related tests.
*Provides physicians with information for treatment of patients infection by performing technical procedures for the identification or susceptibility of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and mycobacteria.
*Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
*Maintains patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential.
*Maintaining general order/cleanliness in the Laboratory.
*Ordering consumables/reagents etc.
*Liasing with technicians/product vendors in case of any issues with the equipment.
